Today I have:
- Helped pack some boxes
- Vacuumed a lot
- Went shopping
- Received a new sofa
- and made several preserves (I got damson jam in the jars, and have the mixture for two different kinds of mincemeat)

And now, once more into the breech! For I still have a kilo of damsons (tiny, annoying damsons) and so am going to make some jelly with them, as soon as I wash my preserving pan.

I envy you the damsons -- I fondly remember drinking homemade damson booze (I think it was gin) and singing late into the night at Whitby with Ade and Lucy :)

Damson gin seems likely! It wouldn't be nearly as annoying as trying to prep them for jam. You have to take the stones out, for jam. Taking the stone out of a 5-gram clingstone plum is an exercise in bitter, bitter frustration. The results were worth it though, at least I hope they were!
